It's been a big year for the white-hot songwriting team of Benj Pasek and Justin Paul. It started eleven months ago when Second Stage Theatre produced their show (with book by Peter Duchan) Dogfight. Then, just a few months later, the guys got their Broadway debut when A Christmas Story: The Musical (book by Joseph Robinette) opened at Broadway's Lunt-Fontanne Theatre. Now, Pasek and Paul are Tony and Drama Desk Award nominees for the latter show, while Dogfight has picked up the Outer Critics Circle Award for Outstanding Off-Broadway Musical.

We are happy to announce that the New Broadway Cast Recording for Roger O. Hirson and Stephen Schwartz’s beloved coming-of-age musical comedy PIPPIN will have a digital release on June 4 and the CD will arrive in stores on July 9. iTunes will begin taking digital pre-orders on May 28.

The acclaimed revival has been hailed as “astonishing” by The New York Times, “amazing and eye-popping” by Entertainment Weekly and “the season’s best musical, jazz hands down” by USA Today. The show, which was nominated for 10 Tony Awards including “Best Musical Revival,” is now playing at the Music Box Theatre (239 West 45th Street).

The Original Cast Recording of the musical, DOGFIGHT will arrive in digital outlets on April 30 and in stores on May 21. The Lucille Lortel nominee for Best Musical debuted Off-Broadway at Second Stage Theatre last year and features music and lyrics by Benj Pasek and Justin Paul (A Christmas Story), a book by Peter Duchan (IFC Films’ Breaking Upwards) and directed by two-time Tony Award winner Joe Mantello (Wicked, Glengarry Glen Ross).
