If you didn't see the critically acclaimed off-Broadway production, then prepare yourself: THE RAPTURE IS NOW CRITICALLY-ACCLAIMED ON BROADWAY.
Nominated for two Tony Awards, including Best Leading Actress in a Musical (Sherie Rene Scott), Best Book of a Musical (Dick Scanlan & Sherie Rene Scott), and five Drama Desk Awards including Outstanding Musical and Outstanding Actress!
Tony Award® nominee Sherie Rene Scott has taken on some of Broadway's most challenging roles, including an evil sea witch (The Little Mermaid), a pampered princess (Aida) and a dirty, rotten scoundrel (Dirty Rotten Scoundrels). Now she is playing her most daunting part yet: herself. Well, kinda.
EVERYDAY RAPTURE is the story of a young womans psycho-sexual-spiritual journey on the rocky path that separates her mostly Mennonite past from her mostly Manhattan future. Her life takes her from the cornfields of Kansas to the clover fields of New York (with a disturbing detour through YouTube). With a cast of five led by Sherie Rene Scott, EVERYDAY RAPTURE also features songs made famous by David Byrne, Roberta Flack, Mister Rogers, The Dap Kings and Judy Garland.
