BILL CHARLAP – one of the world’s premier jazz pianists, has performed and recorded with many leading artists of our time – ranging from jazz masters Phil Woods and Wynton Marsalis to singers Tony Bennett and Barbra Streisand. Since 1997, he has led the Bill Charlap Trio with bassist Peter Washington and drummer Kenny Washington, now recognized as one of the leading groups in jazz. Charlap is the artistic director of New York City’s Jazz in July Festival at the 92nd Street Y, and he has produced concerts for Jazz at Lincoln Center, the JVC Jazz Festival and the Hollywood Bowl. A two-time Grammy nominee, Charlap is married to renowned jazz pianist Renee Rosnes. In the Spring of 2010, Charlap and Rosnes released Double Portrait, a duo piano recording on the Blue Note label.

NOW. HERE. THIS. marks the return to the stage of the ultra-talented team behind the Obie Award-winning musical [title of show] which premiered at The Vineyard in 2006, and went on to an acclaimed, Tony-nominated Broadway run in 2008. The album was fully funded by fans in a recent Kickstarter campaign.

The film Newsies has grown into a cult phenomenon with a generation having grown up on the movie’s driving, infectious score since its 1992 theatrical release and subsequent DVD. Its popularity had grown so dramatically, in fact, that the film’s 2002 DVD release was solely in response to demand from its ardent fans. The film featured a screenplay by Bob Tzudiker & Noni White (Tarzan, 102 Dalmatians).

"13" has had an amazing journey in the four years since it opened on Broadway, with over a thousand productions throughout the world, but a particularly exciting milestone was this summer's premiere in London's West End, produced by the invaluable National Youth Music Theatre company and directed by the composer himself. With a cast handpicked from all over England, this production of the show represented yet another step in its evolution, as Brown and librettists Robert Horn and Dan Elish dug back in and tailored the show to the extraordinary young performers.

Queen of the Mist was commissioned by Transport Group Theatre Company and is the first production of Transport Group’s ten-year cycle, “The 20th Century Project,” exploring themes from each decade in the 20th century. The show takes place during the first decade, 1900 -1910.

This release marks the fourth collaboration between Sh-K-Boom & Ghostlight Records and LaChiusa. Previous releases include the cast recordings of See What I Wanna See, Little Fish and Bernarda Alba.
